The youth minister at our church had this to say during the service on Sunday, following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
My home does not have a tarp on it.
My home does not have a tree through the roof.
My home has not been flooded.
My home does not leak.
My home does not have trees down in the yard.
My home has not been destroyed.
My home is untouchable.
My home is not in this world.
My home is in the eternal.
My home is heaven.
I found it very appropriate to a congregation of people who have been ravaged by the storm. Many of the members, including my pastor, lost their houses. But none of us have lost our home.
For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Hi, we keep hearing the reporters say they need new and used clothing, toys and school supplies, cleaning supplies and such in Mississippi but all the charity site can accept is money. Do you have an address and list of what is needed and how to send to that address (e.g., Fed Ex, UPS, US Postal)?

Let me get back to you on that! I’ll have to do some looking around. Fed Ex, UPS, and US Postal aren’t running too well through our area right now…but they may be soon!
