Oh that today they might fall….
Don’t you enjoy when you can be a blessing to others? Would you like the opportunity to be a real encouragement to bloggers in the blogosphere who could use it?
Well, have we got a show for you….
Introducing the Shower of Encouragement.
da-ta-da-da-da-da!
What is the Shower of Encouragement?
Basically, it will be a group of bloggers who decide they want to join a team. A shower team as my friend Blest has so cleverly put it. (She is also my partner in crime in this venture!) Members will shower bloggers with a plethora of encouraging comments that may be accompainied with scripture and a promise to pray for the person.
Who can be a member of the shower team?
All Christians who believe the Nicene Creed are invited to join! Just e-mail me (E-mail Me! button at the top right of my sidebar) or Blest With Sons to be added to the list.
Okay, I’m a member, what now?
As a member of this Shower Team, your mission would be to locate bloggers who are in need of encouragement. E-mail me or e-mail blest with the blog name and a brief reason for why they were chosen.
We will then send out a Shower Alert and the address of the blogger. You will need to visit that blog within 24 hours of recieving your alert and shower the person with encouraging comments!
Don’t forget to pray for the person!
How do we choose a blogger to shower?
What we are looking for are bloggers who are going through a hard time. There are no specifics….but we do want this to be meaningful. If anyone seems especially discouraged, is going through difficult circumstances, has been ill, lost a loved one….this all qualifies. Of course, other things can qualify as well.
Blest mentioned in her post that if the person is already recieving a huge amount of encouraging comments we might need to focus on someone else that doesn’t have that support already.
Any family-friendly blog can be a recipient of this shower. They do not have to be a Christian. We believe this would be a wonderful way to demonstrate God’s love. We do ask that you only submit blogs that are family friendly. Keep em PG please!
Psssttt….lady bloggers out there….don’t forget to recommend blogs of men who might need encouragement!
Use your better judgement. Then e-mail Blest or myself with the blog in question. We will review them all and send out alerts to the shower team!
Okay, I don’t really want to join the team but I have a blogging buddy in need of encouragement? What do I do?
Why, glad you asked. You certainly should e-mail Blest or myself. Anyone can recommend a blog for a shower!
Anything Else?
We will also send the recipent of the Shower this graphic to place on his/her sidebar.

For the same information in slightly different wording, here’s what Blest is saying about the Shower of Encouragement.
And e-mail me. Join our showering forces!!

Hey – just to clarify – I’m thinking that anyone can submit blogs who need encouragement – not just team members… What do you think?

And I agree with all the above! By the way, what is the time difference between you all and the UK? I often wonder if you are awake or asleep as I sit typing.

Wow, what an incredible idea. God is going to use these showers in a powerful way. I will pray that God blesses you and all who are involved. I’d like to be a part of showering someone’s life. It’s more blessed to give than receive!
You go girls!!!

This is such a great idea, Bethany, I would love to be a part of it! There have been times when I have really felt sad about someone’s situation and wasn’t sure how to spread the word that they were in need–I am never sure whether or not linking their prayer need on my blog would be OK–privacy, you know. This would be wonderful and a little more private and personal!
THANKS!
