Isn’t life funny? I’m sitting here and in one hour I will be leaving to have dinner with one of my dearest friends and her husband (who has become one of our dearest friends as well) for a farewell get-together.
They are leaving before daylight in the morning to Tennessee. Now Tennessee is not the furthest away they could get…but I’m used to seeing them every Sunday in church, sitting by them in Sunday school, having little dinner parties on whims. And just having them close.
I’m so excited for them. Court is getting a scholarship to complete his Doctorate degree. He is a philosophy and history major (I think….that’s what he was anyway!) It’s such a great opportunity for them. And Jenny is excited about the move. They will be in a lovely part of the state. But boy am I going to miss them!! They really are some of the greatest people I know!
My husband is getting ready to go. He’s been showering and changing and the entire time he is singing at the top of his lungs (which are quite powerful). His gorgeous voice is filling the house…..I absolutely love it.
It makes me happy and sad all at the same time.
Okay…sorry I’m being weird.
Gotta go!

It is so hard when we have good friends that move away (or in my case when I move away from good friends). But it amazes me that when we talk or see one another again we just pick up where we left off. God has a way of keeping us close even through the miles. I am sorry to hear that your friends are leaving, but they will always be near in your heart!

Ah yes – I’ve experienced that bittersweetness too. Hope your night out went well. Made me smile when you said Joshua was filling up the house with hi singing.
BTW – to save time trying to find his email – could you pass on that I had trouble trying to read his blog. 2/3 of the posts are hidden under his left sidebar. I’m using IE.
Thanks for all your encouragement Bethany. You rock.

How funny–we are hosting a going away party for some of our closest friends tonight. And I too am feeling sort of sad and moony.
