Ahhh….I keep thinking one day I will begin blogging regularly again. Who knows? I really do keep planning on it. Then I just…well, I don’t. I don’t have a reason. Rebekah is a pretty easy-going baby. My job is a lot less stressful than last year…I just can’t seem to blog on a regular basis. I even made a list the other day of blogging ideas. Things I could get excited about. Now I have to find that list again…..
Anyway, Susanna tagged me for this meme. I’ve seen it around a bit so I might be the last person to do it but at least it gives me, once again, some blog filler until I can get my act together!
A- Available or married? Married
B- Best Friend? I have so many friends…my husband and then this crew.
C- Cake or Pie? Cake, ooey, gooey, chocolate cake with lots of chocolate frosting
D- Drink of Choice? Rootbeer in a glass bottle (IBC or Barqs) Too bad it’s not South Beach friendly. I haven’t had any in a month!
E- Essential Item? Hair gel…I have crazy, wild curly hair
F- Favorite Colour? Blue, like 90% of the world. Can’t help it….I’m unoriginal that way.
G- Gummi Bears or Worms? I like them both but since I have gummi bears in my classroom for treats I eat those more often!
H- Hometown? Perkinston, MS. Have you ever heard of it?
I- Indulgence? bubble baths, very hot, lots of bubbles, no shorter than one hour
J-January or February? February. January is my least favorite month.
K- Kids & names? Shiloh Mackenzie, Landon Cade, and Rebekah Luthien
L- Life is incomplete without? books, chocolate, snuggling and friends
M-Marriage Date? November 26, 2005
N- Number of Siblings? 2 – Amanda and Cade
O- Oranges or apples? Oranges. I love me some oranges!
P- Phobias/Fears? I’m quite the claustrophobic. I hate elevators! And give me my personal space please…no crowding.
Q-Favorite Quote? “He is no fool who gives up what he can not keep to gain what he can not lose” ~Jim Elliot
R- Reason to Smile? My Flickr favorites, the new Snap plug-in my husband put on my blog (go ahead, mouse over my links! Isn’t that cool?) and losing 17 pounds in January!!
S- Season? Summer! Give me scorching hot sun rays and 85% humidity! I don’t have to go to work!
T- Tag three people! Okay OWOA gals! How about Blest, Blair, and Debs!
U- Unknown fact about me: This is hard….I’m an open book! I’ve mentioned on my blog before that I’ve played with an anaconda, played basketball in Belgium, and even brought my nephew to school without shoes on? What more could you want to know? I’m a 5’9″ brunette? Have I mentioned that I teach 2nd boys Sunday school? Uh…I’m an alto? I think I’ve said all this before!
V- was missing…too tired to think of something to put in the blank. Why don’t you come up with something for me?
W- Worst habit? Eek! I have lots of bad habits. How about waiting until the last minute to do things. Like lesson plans, housework, bill paying, grocery shopping…:(
X- Ah. See V above. I’m open to suggestions….but I just said the alphabet wrong, so I know I’m too tired to think up a new category here. (I said W, X, Y and V. I know, you are all dying for me to teach your kids!)
Y- Your favorite food? Oh, so hard. I like so many foods. My new favorite lunch is this turkey wrap.
Z- Zodiac? Ah. I know, but why bother. I’m not into all that stuff!
That’s why I’m posting this picture of Josh and Gabbie. Aren’t they sweet?
They are radio shows for kids but I promise you that any adult will love them as well. The antics of Millard J. Monkey, Nozzles, the Elephant, and Sully the Aardvark are not only greatly entertaining but full of great little lessons on faith, addictions, gossip, lying, fear, pride, generosity and the like. They rival the humor and amusement found in Veggie Tales…but don’t require a boob-tube (which we try to keep our kids from watching too much of!)
We own all three of the above collections (which I highly recommend) but individual program CD’s can be purchased as well at Fancy Monkey Studios. My kids play these while they do chores or homework. They beg to listen to an episode at bedtime. We often play an episode during dinner or all sit on the couch in the evenings and listen to several shows. And, I’ll admit to listening to them myself after the kids have all gone to bed! Lately, their catchy little tunes are always stuck in my head.
They are that good!
Anyway, I don’t know anyone else who listens to Jungle Jam. My husband’s family grew up listening to them and he introduced them to me. Since then, I tell people about the programs but haven’t run into anyone else who had heard of it. I thought it was certainly time to change that.
Maybe your family already appreciates these great shows. Maybe it’s just the people in my area that never listened to a single episode of Jungle Jam. Maybe you’ve all worn out your own Jungle Jam CD’s (or in the case of my husband’s family, cassette tapes). But if not, you really should give them a try. Bet you’ll like em too!
