KMart Doubles make me swoon

Oh, the deals rock at KMart this week. Especially since I have a $5/$50 coupon. Sign up for yours here! I’m also excited KMart started taking internet printable coupons! That makes a good thing so much better.

Here’s what I’m guessing is going to be my first out of many trips this week.

The loot.

And here’s the breakdown:

(4) Luden’s cough drops $1.49 each
(4) KY jelly $3.99 each
(4) Lysol spray $4.50 each (was supposed to be $2.50 each, I wasn’t paying attention. :( )
(4) Lysol 4 in 1 All Purpose cleaners (the big refill one) $2.50 each
(2) Windex wipes $2.50 each
(3) Bounty Basic 2 pks. $2.99 each
(4) Glade candles $2.50 each
(4) Lime Away cleaners $2.50 each
(4) Visine eye drops $3.99 each
(8) Pringles $.99 each
(2) KMart reusable grocery bags $1.49 each

Subtotal: $110.75 (I think, that receipt was a killer to type in!)

I used:
$5/$50 KMart coupon
(4) $1.00 Luden’s MQ
(4) $2.00 KY MQ
(4) $1.00 Lysol spray MQ
(4) $1.00 Lysol all purpose cleaner MQ
(2) $1.50 Windex IP
(3) $1.00 Bounty MQ (got this from PandG Year of Savings)
(2) $1.50 off 2 Glade candles (I read the Q wrong and thought it was off 1!)
(4) $1.00 Lime Away MQ
(4) $2.00 Visine tears MQ
(4) $1.00 off 2 Pringles MQ

New total after doubles: $10.90 (+tax)

This trip would really have rocked if I’d payed better attention to my coupons and the how the register rang items up. I payed an additional $8.00 on the Lysol ($2.00 each can) and I thought the Glade candles would be free since I read my coupon wrong. That cost me an additional $4.00. In fact, if I hadn’t had those coupon mishaps, I might have been in the negative! :) I love that $5 off $50 coupon!

Now, I’ve gotta go organize some coupons! I’m planning on hitting up CVS, Walgreens and KMart again on the morrow! :) Happy shopping!

(Oh, I purchased the KMart bags as a way to support KMart. I also love reusable shopping bags! I think it’s awesome that they’ve had doubles every month this year so far! Go KMart!)

New Haircut

Check out Shiloh’s new haircut. We are loving it. I think it’s too cute and she likes that it doesn’t tangle as easily as it did! :)

Hockey

You know, you can have fun with your family without breaking the bank. We’ve really cut back on how much we spend on entertainment, but that doesn’t mean we don’t do things for entertainment!

My oldest kiddos received free hockey tickets at school last week. We decided that since Rebekah could go for free we would look into hockey prices. Adult tickets were $11.00 each. We decided that $22.00 was a pretty good deal for a family of five to attend a hockey game.

I’m glad we went. Both Shiloh and Landon have been to hockey games, but neither could remember them. It’s been a long, long time! Hockey is one of Josh’s favorite sports and since we’re going to a basketball game for my birthday (Go Spurs!) it was nice to let him see his favorite sport too!

The kids were thrilled. Landon loves sports and knew Dad loved hockey so he was instantly in love with everything. He was the most enthusiastic fan there. In fact, our section won a contest for cheering the loudest and everyone in the three rows behind us and the two rows in front (we had third row seats) was pretty sure Landon was the one who made it possible for us to win! The kid has some lungs.

Rebekah was thrilled with all the clapping and music and she danced and cheered and giggled and had a blast. She was fun to watch! I thought she’d be a pain to keep up with but she was really good. She loved the noise! She loves the chicken dance.

Shiloh at first was a bit distraught by the roughness of the game. Once she realized that it was part of the game and not just lots of bad sportsmanship, she was okay with the slamming people against the wall and sandwiching guys between you and a teammate kind of stuff. She never could bring herself to yell, “Fight! Fight!” when there was the possibility of conflict (and there were no actual fights). She’s my pacifist. She did really get into the game though…and had a great time talking about horses with two girls sitting on the row behind us!

Unfortunately, our Seawolves lost, 2-3. We, however, had a really great time! :) And maybe I’ll make it back to another hockey game in the next 6 years or so!

My super spectacular Walgreens trip today that I’m still giddy over…

I haven’t had the best of luck at Walgreens. I often skip their deals. The Walgreens in my town has terrible customer service and I can’t stand to go in it. There is a Walgreens in a neighboring city that I love…but it’s about 20 minutes away! After reading some spectacular deals at Walgreens this week I decided it was definitely worth a trip. I was not wrong.

I was beginning with no register rewards and only $18.48 on my Walgreens giftcard, so my OOP wasn’t exactly fantastic. I was still very pleased with the way it all worked out. And the cashier and manager were perfectly wonderful! :)
