Last Sunday was my 30th birthday. I really thought about how important that birthday sounds, and how I really should post something profound.
I decided the best thing I can do is give out some free advice. Something I discovered, for the first time, on my 30th birthday. A lesson it took me 30 years to learn. Are you ready? Here it is…
If you feel like you are lacking attention, or need people to notice you, but don’t know what to do, I have the solution. No more will you feel like *Mr. Cellophane(skip to 5:12).
Walk around the French Quarter, in New Orleans, on a game day, wearing a Tony Parker jersey. It helps if there are three others with you wearing Manu Ginobli, David Robinson, and Tim Duncan jerseys. You will be noticed. A lot.
So, there’s my sage advice. Don’t expect anymore until my 60th birthday.
Oh, did you catch that? I went to my first Spurs game for my birthday!! Woohoo! (Thank you Mom and Dad!)
Look…here are my guys.
Be still my beating heart. If I were to have star crushes, it would be on these sweaty guys!
and (watch out Eva) Tony
Okay, so I don’t really have crushes on these guys…but I do love me some Spurs. It was a blast, except for the losing part. And it was fun to cause a bit of a sensation in NOLA! By the way NOLA friends, I’ll be visiting again soon for Jazz Fest. Hopefully, I won’t have to worry about being tarred and feathered!
*(Just a note about my link above, I couldn’t find Ben Vereen doing Mr. Cellophane anywhere except in the middle of a Muppet Show. Once you’ve heard Ben Vereen do this song, no one else’s version will do…Chicago or no Chicago. Ben Vereen is the man.)
I hit CVS up early this week so I could take advantage of a nice $5/$25 CVS coupon. I ran into a nice Olay deal where you can score free Olay products if you have the right coupons!
I did two transactions. Here’s the loot:
And here’s the breakdown:
(2) Huggies Jumbo diapers $10.00 each (10.00 ecb when you spend $25.00)
(1) Huggies wipes (the big bag) $5.00 each
(1) Covergirl Simply Ageless foundation $13.00 (10.00 ecbs when you spend $20.00)
(1) Covergirl single eyeshadow $3.39
(1) Covergirl lipslick $4.49
(2) Easter grass $.79 each (.79 ecbs for each)
(1) Skintimate shave gel $3.49 (3.49 ecbs)
$10/$50 CVS Q
(3) $3.00 Huggies IP (no longer available)
(1) $4.00 Simply ageless MQ
(2) $1.00 off any Covergirl MQ
9 ECB’s (I’m running low on ECBs! Ack!)
New total: $16.95 + tax (I don’t know when I’ve spent this much at CVS. It’s been awhile!)
ECB’s earned: 25.07
(for some reason my Huggies ECB’s didn’t print, so be careful about that!)
(2) Olay Definity Make-up remover wipes $9.99 each (10 ECB’s when you spend $25)
(1) Olay Reginerist Mae-up remover wipes $6.00
(1) Colgate toothpaste $2.99 ($2.00 ecbs)
$5/$25 CVS coupon (emailed to me)
(2) $5.00 Definity MQ (one of these came from the Year of Savings Booklet and another was a home mailer.)
(1) $5.00 Reginerist MQ (from Year of Savings)
(1) $1.50 Colgate MQ
New total: $4.07 (another high total? I’m way off my game.)
ECB’s earned: $12.00
Once again, my Olay ECB’s didn’t print out so watch out. I have to go back tomorrow and get them to fix it. Pay attention at the register!!
I love Olay facial wipes! They are my favorite, so I was excited about this deal. Also, I’ve been dying to try the Covergirl Simply Ageless Foundation for awhile now.
I haven’t posted my CVS deals in three weeks! I’ve been taking pictures though. Below is the loot, but I’m not going to bother with the transactions. I don’t feel like looking for the receipts and figuring out which ECB’s I’ve already spent, etc. I did get some good deals though. Last week was an especially good CVS week!
And for good measure, here’s my loot from Walgreen’s last week.
