When I started dating my husband, he introduced my children to Strongbad. Our favorite Strongbad email happens to be Dragon. And really, if you’ve never seen this, you really need to check out that link. It’s great.
Well, my kids have passed the corruption on to their friends. They get on my school computers in the afternoons, while I’m still working, and watch this over and over and over.
When Kaylie moved in, they introduced her to the wonders of Trogdor, the Burninator!! Now, she too, is hooked. It is not unusual to have a kid singing “Trogdor!!” as they make their way through the house.
Although our family chooses not to celebrate Halloween, we still like to carve pumpkins! I told the kids they would have to agree on something to carve in our pumpkin this year.
They began by impressing me with how spiritual they were.
“How about an angel?”
“Oh wait! What about someone praying? Or praying hands?”
“Three crosses! Three crosses!!”
Then, it happens.
“Wouldn’t it be funny if we carved Trogdor into the pumpkin?”
Uh oh. Here it goes. And so much for how spiritual they are!
Now I have unanimous screeches of “Trogdor! Trodgor! Trogdor!” and then they all break into song, “Trogdor! Burninating the countryside! Burninating the peasants!”
And really, it’s not like I couldn’t carve it? There are step by step directions to draw the thing…how hard could it be?
So I consent.
Here is the result…our carved pumpkin!

Happy Fall Ya’ll!
