Last Sunday was my 30th birthday. I really thought about how important that birthday sounds, and how I really should post something profound.

I decided the best thing I can do is give out some free advice. Something I discovered, for the first time, on my 30th birthday. A lesson it took me 30 years to learn. Are you ready? Here it is…

If you feel like you are lacking attention, or need people to notice you, but don’t know what to do, I have the solution. No more will you feel like *Mr. Cellophane(skip to 5:12).

Walk around the French Quarter, in New Orleans, on a game day, wearing a Tony Parker jersey. It helps if there are three others with you wearing Manu Ginobli, David Robinson, and Tim Duncan jerseys. You will be noticed. A lot.

So, there’s my sage advice. Don’t expect anymore until my 60th birthday.

Oh, did you catch that? I went to my first Spurs game for my birthday!! Woohoo! (Thank you Mom and Dad!)

Look…here are my guys.

Be still my beating heart. If I were to have star crushes, it would be on these sweaty guys! :D

Timmy

Manu

and (watch out Eva) Tony

Okay, so I don’t really have crushes on these guys…but I do love me some Spurs. It was a blast, except for the losing part. And it was fun to cause a bit of a sensation in NOLA! By the way NOLA friends, I’ll be visiting again soon for Jazz Fest. Hopefully, I won’t have to worry about being tarred and feathered! :D

*(Just a note about my link above, I couldn’t find Ben Vereen doing Mr. Cellophane anywhere except in the middle of a Muppet Show. Once you’ve heard Ben Vereen do this song, no one else’s version will do…Chicago or no Chicago. Ben Vereen is the man.)
