A Picturesque Life :: Life in Pictures

Okay so here’s the truth about this post.

I am really good….because noone guessed right. Amanda came the closest….but that’s because she guessed all of them!

I must admit to taking Lauren’s advice and making everything almost true.

1. It was either my friend Brandy or my friend Samantha who was the sick mind that hung my dear teddy bear, Abednego, by a bra from the 16th floor of the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas. I cannot remember which. Maybe Samantha will drop by and place the blame on Brandy….

So no! Not true!

2. My senior year of high school I was invited to play on an international basketball team. Six girls from my team recieved invitations (we were pretty good) but my sister and I were the only ones to accept. (We had to raise the cost of the trip.) That summer we played in a tournament with other girls (mostly from Louisiana) in Belgium. I was three months pregnant when we made the trip. While on the trip my feet began to swell horribly…and we never had anytime to recover from jet-lag….so I was very, very tired when not playing any games. So I would prop my feet up on the bleachers and sleep on the gym floor between games. We have pictures of this somewhere!

True!

3. When I was in fifth grade my family took a summer vacation to the capitol city (of Mississippi) which is Jackson. Needless to say I felt a bit gypped out of a vacation to begin with but we ended up having a great time. We were going to several historical museums around the capitol building and found one we didn’t know about. It was empty, but it was open. We looked around at various displays before I started using my wild imagination. I began to wonder if we would get locked in overnight. I went to the door to check and make sure it was open (the rest of my family continued looking around) and there was a security guard locking the door. I yelled that we were still in the building and he opened the door and informed me that they were closed. I got my family and we left. Although the rest of my family was unaffected, I had nightmares about being locked in a museum for about two weeks.

So…not true!

4. On summer vacation after my senior year my family did go to Gulf Shores. After one beautiful day at the beach we woke up the next morning under hurrican warning. There was a mandatory evacuation of the city going on. My family packed our bags, called Atlanta and made hotel reservations at the place we would spend the rest of our vacation (Braves games, Six Flags and Stone Mountain). But, before we joined the traffic jam that was the evacuating tourists, my mother, my siblings, and two family friends that went with us all went and swam in the crashing, churning waves of Hurricane Danny. But my dad stayed in the hotel room and watched a ball game! (Yes, we know we are nuts….you can read the full account of this here.)

Oh yeah. I was pregnant then too!

So….not exactly true!

5. During my senior year of high school I took a drama class. My boyfriend was also in this class. It was located in a new building, seperate from the rest of the school in the parking lot. One day the teacher asked my boyfriend and I to stay late to complete something. (There were a few other people staying late as well…I think completing backdrops for a play…). She wrote us passes to class and sent us on our way when we were done. Right before we walked in the door of the classroom, my boyfriend stopped and gave me a kiss. A little kiss, mind you. Just as the assisstant principal, who was well known for being absolutley merciless, walks out the door. He chews us from one end to the other but miraculously does not suspend us! I was terrified.

But….I’ve never been suspended from school! :D So it’s not true!

So there you have it. Now you know the truth….of all of it!

I almost wrote about the time I played with an anaconda….but I didn’t think you guys would believe me. (I DID really do this!!) :D

You’re a little too good at this. I love it! I should’ve voted for all of them, then maybe I would have had a chance.

Oh, the agony of defeat! Good one, Bethany! Pregnant, pregnant, pregnant…this is starting to look like my blog! So, what did you decide on the longest meme ever?
