Menu Plan Monday

In an attempt to get back into blogging for the summer and in an attempt to actually plan meals, I think I’m going to participate in the Menu Plan Monday. I used to be really good at planning and sticking to a menu. I don’t know when I stopped doing this, but the questions around 5 o’clock about what’s going to be for dinner is getting to be a pain…mostly because I don’t know! :D

So here it is!

Monday

Lunch-Frozen pizza, green salad and birthday cake (Daunte, my stepson, turns 9 today)

Dinner-Pancakes and bacon

Tuesday

Lunch – grilled cheese and fruit

Dinner – BBQ Brisket, corn on the cob and rolls

Wednesday

Lunch – mac-n-cheese and salad

Dinner – Teriyaki chicken , sugar snap peas, pineapple

Thursday

Lunch – turkey sandwiches, potato chips

Dinner – BBQ Chicken chunks, broccoli, and rolls

Friday

Lunch – Spaghetti-o’s, fruit cocktail, crackers

Dinner – hamburgers and fries

Saturday

Lunch – pb&j sandwiches with yogurt

Dinner – chili dogs and chips

Breakfast all week will rotate between cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal…

I will likely be substituting all lunches for me with a green salad.

Pretty simple I know. I started this on a whim this morning and wanted to use things I actually had. Hopefully I can add more interesting foods as I go. For one, I’m really wanting some chicken parmigiana soon, so I’ll have to work that into next weeks menu somewhere…

Of course, I reserve the right to change my mind on any of this at any time. I’m just hoping that having a menu will keep me better prepared and not frantically looking in the freezer and pantry at dinnertime trying to figure out what on earth I can make in a few minutes! :D
